Apple’s latest operating system, iOS 8, is now installed on 81 percent of all iOS devices, according to the latest figured published by Apple. That’s a respectable jump from March 18, when iOS 8 was installed on 77 percent of all iOS devices. It’s likely the increase is due to sales of new products, whether iPads or iPhones, that run the newer operating system. iMore, however, suggests that iOS 8 is still off to a much slower start than iOS 7 in the same time period. The site said that iOS 7 was installed on 87 percent of all iOS devices at the same time period last year, and it’s unclear why the adoption of iOS 8 is slightly slower. 17 percent of iOS users are still running that older operating system, while another 2 percent are running an even more antiquated version.
