The first cumulative update for the Windows 10 Creators Update rolls out to Windows insiders

If you’re a PC Windows Insider in any ring, you’ll have a new update waiting for you: 15063.11. This is also known as KB4016250, and contains two very basic fixes aimed at both McAfee Enterprise and Surface users. You can find the changelog below. This comes after the news on Wednesday that the Creators Update would come out for PCs on April 11th, but you’ll be able to get it through the Upgrade Assistant on April 5th if you can’t wait.

OneNote for Windows 10 gets audio nodes and more for Insiders

Microsoft is rolling out a new update for OneNote on Windows 10. The company is releasing a new update for the OneNote app to Windows Insiders in the Fast Ring. The update is not huge, but it introduces two really important features. Firstly, it brings support for audio notes to the OneNote app which means you can now add voice recordings to any of your notes on OneNote. The update also brings the ability to paste images from your clipboard into notes, which was a much-needed addition.

Apple may bring True Tone displays to the next iPhones

Apple’s next iPhones may feature True Tone displays, according to a note from Barclays, as reported by MacRumors. Currently, Apple’s True Tone display is only available on the 9.7-inch iPad Pro. True Tone displays can alter the appearance of the screen based on the lighting conditions. So when you’re in a room with yellow bulbs or outside in sunlight, your display will look different — and be easier on the eyes. True Tone is similar to Night Shift in some ways, but Night Shift is solely designed to limit the amount of blue light you take in during evening hours, not as a 24-hour solution.

Community TAB in IOS updated App

Thanks for the update to your app, but can we please, on the next version, push the feed part of the community tab, to the BACK.  I want to tap on community and immediately see how I am doing compared to my friends, like how it used to be, I don’t want to see this “Welcome to Community” page, and then have to TAP again to see my friends and how I am doing compared to them. Who decided this was a good change?  Did you pilot this before deciding on this format?  It’s annoying and unwanted, at least to me.

Apple Fixes 911 Vulnerability in iOS 10.3

Among the changes in an iPhone software update Apple Inc. released this week: a fix aimed at preventing cyberattacks on 911 centers in the U.S. The vulnerability was exposed in October after an 18-year-old in Arizona allegedly designed code that would cause iPhones to repeatedly dial 911. A link to the code went viral on Twitter, as teenagers began sharing it as a prank. The incident, which was detailed in a Wall Street Journal article, resulted in thousands of accidental 911 calls, overwhelming operators in at least a dozen states across the U.S.

Microsoft’s Windows 10 Creators Update will start rolling out to PC users on April 11th. But Microsoft says not everyone will get the update on day one. The company will be doing a phased rollout and it could take several months before all eligible devices get the free update. That April 11th start date is also only a part of the bigger picture. If you’re one of the handful of people with a smartphone running Windows 10 Mobile, the software update for your phone will begin rolling out April 25th.

Man nearly electrocuted after falling asleep with his iPhone charging in bed

An iPhone nearly became lethal for an Alabama man who fell asleep while charging his phone in bed. Wiley Day suffered second- and third-degree burns to his neck and hands when he was electrocuted on March 23. Day said his metal dog tags slipped between the charger and extension cord while he slept. “When I felt the electrocution here, it somehow, some way, jolted me over here to the floor.” Day managed to rip the burning chain from his neck. “I kept yelling, ‘Jesus!’” he recalled. “Thursday morning is probably the most scariest morning I’ve ever been through in my life.

The CrossOver Preview for Android now supports Office 2013, multi-window, and more

CodeWeavers is well-known for its CrossOver software, which allows some Windows programs to run on Mac and Linux. Back in August of last year, the company released a preview of CrossOver for Android, designed for Chromebooks with the Play Store and x86-based Android devices. Now CodeWeavers has released an update to the Preview, bringing several major improvements. Firstly, the new Preview adds support for Microsoft Office 2013 and Steam, along with all the other improvements that Wine 2.0 adds (CrossOver is based on Wine).

Bug delays Android Wear 2.0 yet again

“We have started rolling out the Android Wear 2.0 update to Fossil Q Founder, Casio Smart Outdoor Watch WSD-F10 and Tag Heuer Connected,” a Google spokesperson said in a statement. “For other devices, the update is currently being delayed due to a bug found in final testing. We will push the update to the remaining devices as soon as the issue is resolved.” That said, it’s worth noting that — in typical Google fashion — Android Wear 2.0 didn’t have a solid release date.
