Liam separates the main components allowing the platinum, gold, silver and other precious metals to be removed A robot with 29 arms is to strip down discarded mobile phones to allow the metals to be turned into new products. Apple has collected thousands of iPhones returned to its British stores and is sending them to the Netherlands to be recycled.
