What the ‘i’ stands for in Apple products
If you believe the letter stands for “internet”, you would be correct. According to Steve Jobs, that’s not the only thing the letter refers to – it actually stands for a lot of other things. During the launch of the first iMac back in 1998 Steve said the computer was targeted at the “number one use that the consumers say they want to use the computer for”. “Even though this is a full-blooded Macintosh, we are targeting this for the number one use that consumers tell us they want a computer for, which is to get on the internet, simply, and fast,” he said.
