If iMessage on Android ever existed, an Allo dev would expect no SMS
Still convinced that Apple would export its moneymaker of a texting app to other platforms? Well, the thought of iMessage on Android continues to be an experiment for the lot of us — but if it ever did exist, one of Google’s developers in charge of competing app Allo would expect that the app would not support SMS. Why? According to Allo project co-lead Justin Uberti, it’s because Apple is interested in keeping users locked into its platform. Apple can make money from Apple Music no matter where the company can bring it because commercialized music is a commodity.
