Google brings in-app search feature to its Android app
Google’s search app for Android has a new “In Apps” mode that allows you to quickly find data that may be siloed away inside of apps. For instance, instead of display results from the web, the app can show information from Gmail, Spotify, or YouTube. To use the new feature, just type a query into the search bar, and when the results show up you should see a series of tabs that says “All,” “News,” “Shopping,” and so on. Scroll to the right of that bar and you should see a new “In Apps” tab. I didn’t actually see the tabs at first on my phone.
