今年の後半にリリース予定のAppleの新しいソフトウェアアップデートは、アイフォン5とアイフォン5cを利用し続けている顧客に対して実行できません。

同社は18日のイベントでiOS11」を発表し、旧式のiPhone(アイフォーン)とiPadがサポートされないことが確認された。

これはiPhoneの5年目標(2012年発表)または「アイフォン5C(2013)と、第4世代iPad(2012)では動作しません。

この場合も、iOSが10のデバイスを使うことができますが、セキュリティ更新プログラムを受け取ることができない。

他の欠点は、iOS11に対して最適化されるようにいくつかのアプリは動作しなくなるということである。

There Is Some Really Bad News For iPhone Users

Apple’s new software update that will be released later this year, will not be available for customers still using the iPhone 5 and iPhone 5c. The company announced iOS11 at an event on Tuesday and have confirmed that older iPhones and iPads will not be supported. It will not work on the iPhone 5 (released in 2012) or the iPhone 5C (2013), as well as fourth-generation iPads (2012). You will still be able to use the devices with iOS 10 but you may not receive security updates. The other downside is that some apps will stop working as they will be optimised for iOS11.

The iPhone models that’ll become obsolete with Apple’s latest update

When the next iPhone is released this year, older models will no longer receive software or security updates and some apps will no longer work. The iOS11 operating system will not support the iPhone 5, 5c or iPad 4 – meaning that these products will be stuck on iOS10, leaving them without the latest updates. These devices were built on 32-bit architecture, but the company has now completely switched to 64-bit architecture, The Independent reports. This means that games or apps which run on 32-bit will no longer work.

If you’ve got an iPhone 5, Apple is about to make it obsolete

Buried in Apple’s announcements this week was a tiny, but crucial fact – users of its popular iPhone 5 and 5C devices are about to be left in the cold. The new version of Apple’s iOS, iOS 11, will not work on older iPhones including the iPhone 5 and 5C (although it will work on iPhone 5S). The new OS is expected in September, when Apple releases new iPhones – and will only work on devices with 64-bit chips (ie iPhone 5S and later). What this will mean for iPhone 5 users is that they’ll be stuck on iOS 10 – and no longer receive software updates for new features or security fixes.

My ‘mobile’ Lumia 950 XL, sporting a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 SoC, has supported Windows 10 Mobile for a year and a half. It has been Microsoft’s intention all this time to run Windows 10 on all platforms/processors including devices and applications running on ARM processors. What will be new news is when we hear an announcement that ARM has started dominating some space other than the mobile space: namely servers and desktops.

Microsoftには自前のIFTTTのようなサービス:Microsoftフローを発表していた。IFTTTと似ていますが、ユーザーがMicrosoftのフローは、予め定められた条件が満たされた場合に、様々なインターネット・サービスを接続する特定のタスクを自動化するための「フロー」を作成することができます。たとえば、仕事の帰りのときには、フローを作成して、家庭内の光源をオフにすることができます。ただし、IFTTTとは異なり、特定の条件が満たされている場合には、2以上のサービスを接続して、複数の操作を実行できます。

Microsoft Flow app comes to Windows 10 Mobile smartphones

Microsoft had announced an IFTTT-like service of its own: Microsoft Flow. Similar to IFTTT, Microsoft Flow that lets users connect various Internet services to create ‘Flows’ for automatically performing certain tasks when predefined conditions are met. For example, you can create a Flow to turn off lights in your home when you leave for work. However, unlike IFTTT, you can connect more than two services and perform multiple actions if certain conditions are met. When Microsoft announced this service, the Microsoft Flow app was launched only on Android and iOS.

Microsoftは約一カ月以内(7月1日付)で、Skypeアプリが引退すると発表した。対象のプラットフォーム、Windows Phoneは8で、Windows Phoneは8.1、10for Mobile Messaging,WindowsRT,TV向けSkypeアプリ、Windows PhoneのSkypeが動作し続けることに留意することが重要であり、ウィンドウズ10Mobileの「Anniversary Update」以降が必要です。これは、本来ならば昨年発表されたが、一度に指定した日付がありません(単に「今後数カ月中」)。

Skype Deprecates Several Platforms

Microsoft has just announced that they will be retiring several Skype apps in about a month’s time (July 1st). The affected platforms are Windows Phone 8, Windows Phone 8.1, Messaging for Windows 10 Mobile, Windows RT, and Skype apps for TV. It’s important to note that Skype for Windows Phone still works, although it requires the Windows 10 Mobile Anniversary Update or later. This was originally announced last year, but no date was given at the time (just “in the coming months”). Some sites are noting a workaround for affected users: Skype for Web.

1年近くこれについて話した後、Skypeは7月1日にWindowsを搭載したスマートフォン向けアプリのバージョンを退社する。

お断りしておきますが、スマートフォンで、ウィンドウズ10をハードウェアであっても、Skype通話アプリを使うことができますが、残念なことには、すべてのWindowsモバイルユーザにはなりません。

SkypeのWindows Phoneバージョン8は、Windows Phoneは8.1、Windows RTやテレビ向けアプリを永久になります。ウィンドウズ10用メッセージングアプリ、Mobileは7月に逆転Skype機能消失も表示されます。

PSA: Skype won’t be available on smartphones running Windows 8.1 and others soon

After talking about it for almost a year, Skype will eventually retire versions of its app for smartphones running Windows on July 1st. To be clear, those using Windows 10 on a smartphone will still be able to use the standalone Skype app but sadly that isn’t the case for all Windows mobile users. Skype will be permanently retiring the app for Windows Phone 8, Windows Phone 8.1, Windows RT and TV. The messaging app for Windows 10 Mobile will also see Skype functionality disappear come July.
