Google Releases Android O Developer Preview—Here’s a Rundown of the New Features

The first sneak peak of Android O is finally here. The developer preview promises more features, stabilization, and better performance, according to the Android Developers Blog. Furthermore, there’s speculation that the latest operating system will be code-named “Android Oreo,” so it definitely sounds like we’re in for a treat. The preview version of Android O is only available for Nexus and Pixel users at the moment, and it’s the very first iteration, so we can expect a few minor bugs.

Googleの最近のパターンと衛星画像に続いて、Androidのデフォルトは距離で星のカーブ領域から山岳地帯を示しています。デスクトップコンピュータのモニタでは、壁紙はすごいものでもありませんが、電話で申し込んだら、それは素晴らしいですね、特にAMOLED液晶パネル。

Google seems to be getting better and better at picking out default wallpapers for its OS releases, and this one isn’t any different. Today’s announcement of Android O brought along yet another new fantastic wallpaper, and even if you can’t try out the new OS, you can still download and apply the wallpaper on your device. Following Google’s recent pattern of satellite-based imagery, Android O’s default shot shows off a mountain range from space with the curve of the planet out in the distance.

Android O hands-on preview: Top 10 features!

Surprise! Google just took the wraps off a new version of Android in developer preview form. Say hello to Android O! It’s still early days for Android O, and Google will be adding new features over the course of four developer previews before it’s all finalized later in the summer. For now, what we have is a very early sneak peek at some of the new features — including notification channels, adaptive icons, and picture-in-picture mode for phones and tablets. And we still don’t yet know what Android O will be named, either, though there are some obvious possibilities.

Test your Android and iOS apps with Appium 1.6.3 and AWS Device

Appium 1.6.3 addresses many issues, including the addition of support for iOS 10. Another major change between 1.6.3 and 1.4.16 is the elimination of Appium pre-launch mode. Previously, Device Farm ran Appium tests in pre-launch mode, which may have required changes to the way you structured your tests. In 1.6.3, pre-launch is no longer available or used. To prevent potential issues in your test execution, we suggest that you test your Appium tests against 1.6.3 in your local environment to verify compatibility.

Amazon today updated its Amazon Music app for iOS devices to version 6.4.0, adding a small but important new feature: support for CarPlay With the latest version of the Amazon Music app, Amazon Music subscribers who own a vehicle equipped with CarPlay can access their music directly through the CarPlay interface when an iPhone is connected to the car.Amazon Music is available to Amazon Prime subscribers, with two million songs, playlists, and stations included in a membership.

Amazon Music for iOS updated with support for CarPlay

In addition to the Kindle app update that rolled out earlier today, Amazon today has also updated its Music app on iOS with a notable feature: CarPlay support. The update bumps the app to version 6.4 and is available now on the App Store. With CarPlay support, users can now access Amazon Music directly from the CarPlay home screen. From there, users can choose music and playlists to listen to.

この場合でも、以前のWindowsマシンやデバイスにMicrosoft Translator appを使用している場合は、早急に代替をアップグレードするか探そうかと思っています。Microsoftでは、Translatorが間もなく『ウィンドウズ8』、『ウィンドウズフォン7.1とWindows Phoneが8で停止します(オンムシフト経由)を発表した。

Microsoftによれば、この翻訳アプリストア3月22日で影響を受けるプラットフォーム向けから削除されます。既にアプリケーションがインストールされている場合でも、4月30日経由でも引き続き使用し続けることができるようになっており、これは動作しなくなります。

Microsoft ending support for Translator on older Windows platforms

If you’re still using the Microsoft Translator app on an older Windows machine or device, you’ll want to upgrade or find an alternative soon. Microsoft has announced (via OnMSFT) that Translator will soon stop working on Windows 8, Windows Phone 7.1 and Windows Phone 8. According to Microsoft, the Translator app will be removed from the Store for the affected platforms on March 22. If you already have the app installed, however, you’ll be able to continue using it through April 30, at which point it will stop working.

Instagram now lets you save live videos on mobile

Instagram is currently improving its live videos platform for mobile with the ability for broadcasters to download their own live videos post-broadcasting. The firm previously allowed users to broadcast and stream themselves via their phne, now users can now download the streams for some sense of permanence. While Instagram previously defended the decision  as relieving pressure from the users by removing a sense of permanence, it seems that Facebook now recognises that user choice trumps babysitting for some features.
