Can You Spot The Surface Book In These Pictures? Neither Could I

This is one corner of my little home office. In the lower left corner of the bookshelves, I have three or four shelves dedicated to some of the tech I keep long-term: a Surface Book, some Bluetooth speakers, Wi-Fi routers and the like. But I’ve been searching for the Surface Book for a couple of weeks, and couldn’t find it. It’d been worrying me for a little while — probably a couple of weeks. I knew I’d taken it out to take to the US on my trip to E3, but I ended up taking a new Surface Laptop instead. I’d put the Surface Book down somewhere and completely forgotten about it.

Microsoft took another step away from the smartphone business after it announced stopping all kind of support for Windows Phone 8.1. Users of the mobile OS will no longer receive updates or support, the company announced. Starting in 2010, Microsoft previous attempt at restarting its mobile OS failed to gain much traction and is now all but a distant memory. Lack of crucial features and popular third-party apps were the main issue Windows Phone struggled with. Halting Windows Phone 8.

Windows 10 Mobile Build 15063.483 is now available for download with improvements

Microsoft is now rolling out Windows 10 Mobile Build 15063.483 to non-Insiders. It is a cumulative update with some bug fixes and improvements. Microsoft released the same update to Windows 10 PCs and Tablets. Windows 10 Mobile Build 15063.483 comes with no new features or major improvements. With this cumulative update, Microsoft has squashed some bug and improved the performance of the operating system. The latest cumulative update is available for all Windows 10 Mobile devices with Creators Update.

Microsoft drops support of Windows Phone

Microsoft is ending support and updates for the Windows Phone 8.1, Engadget reported. It’s been three years since the device came out in April 2014, but Microsoft is still in the mobile game with Windows 10 Mobile. The company launched Windows Phone 7 in 2010 as an answer to the iPhone and Android devices, Engadget reported.

Mainstream support for Windows Phone 8.1 has ended

If you’re still rocking a handset running Windows Phone 8.1, it is important to note that mainstream support for the operating system is ending tomorrow, as Microsoft previously announced. Prior to the availability of Windows 10 Mobile for select handsets, the last major update to Windows Phone 8.1 was Lumia Denim, which started rolling out way back in December 2014. A select number of handsets can get Windows 10 Mobile, but the vast majority of users (about 80%) are running Windows Phone 8.1.

今日のIndie Games祭の受付が開始されていることに加えて、Googleはこうした2017のマテリアルデザインアワードの候補公募を原則としている。もっとオープンは年内をiOSとウェブのマテリアルの経験を見てみます。

注目すべきことに、GoogleはMaterial原理を導入する「最高の設計」を認識する第3回毎年恒例の賞の推薦だけを対象としている。Google Designチームは、それ自身の内部プロセスを有するであろうが、自エントリは7月27日までに受け付けられることになる。

今年の賞と4種類あります。

例年と違って、勝者はAndroidアプリで、GoogleはiOS版およびウェブ経験の人選も開いています。

Google opens 2017 Material Design Awards to Android, iOS, & web, accepting self-nominations

In addition to opening sign-ups for the Indie Games Festival today, Google is now taking nominations for the 2017 Material Design Awards. A more open selection process this year will look at Material experiences on both iOS and the web. Of note, Google is only taking self-nominations for their third annual award that recognizes “best-in-class designs” that incorporate Material principles. The Google Design team will likely have their own internal process, but self-entries will be accepted until July 27th.

Today marks the release of Street Fighter IV: Champion Edition on iOS devices, a game which adapts Street Fighter IV for widescreen smartphones and tablets and offers tutorials and beginner friendly options for new players.
