Seniors, learn iPhone, iPad essentials

Local residents are invited to attend a free class on “iPhone & iPad Essentials for Seniors,” from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, July 15, at the Best Western Palm Court Hotel, 234 D St. in Davis. The instructors are Jay Woods and Jacci O’Connor, tech nerds and fellow seniors who volunteer regularly at the Davis and Woodland senior centers. The class will cover the basics of using iPhones and iPads, Apple’s mobile devices. Topics include basic hand gestures, features that enhance vision and hearing, going online and basic security/privacy features.

The Size of iPhone’s Top Apps Has Increased by 1000 Percent in Four Years

According to Sensor Tower’s analysis of App Intelligence, the total space required by the top 10 most installed U.S. iPhone apps has grown from 164 MB in May 2013 to about 1.8 GB last month, an 11× or approximately 1,000 percent increase in just four years. In the following report, we delve deeper into which apps have grown the most. Apple really needs to do something about this. It’s not just that these apps are too big, but some of them issue software updates every week (or even more frequently). It’s a huge waste of bandwidth, time, and on-device storage space.

A new season means it’s new wallpaper time. Clearly, Better Rivals’ staff designer Joce Bossin was inspired by the influx of talent, as this year we have a rookie-focused wallpapers. For you nostalgic folks, the mobile wallpapers include one for Carlos Hyde. The mobile versions might look doubled, but this is by design. They include one with the schedule for the iPhone lock screen, and one without the schedule for the home screen. Sorry Android lovers, we didn’t create 137 different versions to account for all the different screen sizes. I think the mobile version will serve you just fine.

時々、明るく白いUIが明るすぎる夜見ることにした理由をTwitterは解放ナイトモードアプリケーションです。メニューを切り替えて、白い背景に黒いテキストと白いテキストで黒い背景を抱きやすいですね。

Twitter for Androidがナイトモードが「セットして忘れる」という機能を実現しようとしています。Twitterのベータ版ユーザーから、アプリはTwitterの方が日の出と日没の時にスイッチが自動夜間モードを得ることができます。

ナイトモードは7.2個になります。更新時には、通常のモデルが、再び、夜間モードになると、そのように選定するならば、夜間モードを自動に設定するようメッセージが表示されます。この機能はすぐにTwitterで公開された。

Twitter’s night mode is now automatic for Android

Sometimes, a bright and white UI is too much light to be viewing at night. Which is why Twitter released night mode for its app. You toggle it in the menu and you’ll get a dark background with white text as opposed to black text with a white background, easy right? Well Twitter for Android is about to make night mode a “set it and forget it” feature. Starting with Twitter’s beta users, the app will be getting an automatic night mode that switches at sunrise and sunset for those who tweet around the clock. Automatic Night mode will come with Twitter 7.2.

Now You Can Get an Apple Music Yearly Subscription Direct in iOS

Apple quietly added an Apple Music yearly subscription option for individual accounts a couple months ago, as first noted by TechCrunch. For US$99 per year, you can pay Apple once a year to enjoy music, That will save $20 compared to a monthly subscription (12 months at $9.99 = $119.88). However, there’s a small catch. For now, this Apple Music yearly subscription isn’t available to newly signed-up users, only people who already have a subscription. Find it by opening the Music app and going to For You > Account > View Apple ID > Subscriptions > Apple Music Membership.

Protection lists for the upcoming NHL expansion draft were made public on Sunday. There were no surprises on the Caps list. However, due to the fact that the Caps are likely to lose Nate Schmidt or Philipp Grubauer, not a lot of attention was paid to the forwards the Caps protected. It may be a bit of a moot point since the Caps are all but certain to not lose a forward, but examining the Caps’ decision making process here can still be a useful exercise.

Microsoft latest update to the MSN News app for iOS fixes the Broken News Content issue

Last Week Microsoft had released a new update for its MSN News app for iOS devices with changelog “Bug fixes and improvements”. However after taking the update the News article were not visible showing error as “Content Not available”. The Redmond Giant was aware of the issue with the MSN News App and was working on a fix for the error. The company has now finally released a new update for its MSN News App for iOS devices which is currently available for download via the Apple Store.
