Appium 1.6.3 addresses many issues, including the addition of support for iOS 10. Another major change between 1.6.3 and 1.4.16 is the elimination of Appium pre-launch mode. Previously, Device Farm ran Appium tests in pre-launch mode, which may have required changes to the way you structured your tests. In 1.6.3, pre-launch is no longer available or used. To prevent potential issues in your test execution, we suggest that you test your Appium tests against 1.6.3 in your local environment to verify compatibility.
