Patch Tuesday Alert: Windows 10 build 14393.953 for PC and Mobile is now available to download

Last month, Microsoft skipped the usual Patch Tuesday release due to a “last minute issue.” Today the software giant has followed up to release both last month’s February Patch Tuesday update, and a fresh update for March, bringing the latest Production Ring Anniversary Update build to 14393.953 for PC and Mobile. Overall, PC users with the Anniversary Update installed should be seeing both Cumulative Update KB4013429 and Update KB4013418, as well as Flash update KB4014329.

Microsoft delays Windows 10 Mobile lock-screen bug fix till Creators Update

Almost exactly a month ago we reported that Windows 10 Mobile had a lock screen bug which exposes your pictures to any inquiring eyes. The bug allows anyone to see the pictures in your camera roll without knowing your PIN number by following a small number of simple steps. The bug is not present in the latest Insider versions of the Creators update, and it seems Microsoft has decided to skip rolling out a fix for the issue to devices on the Anniversary Update, as the latest Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Mobile does not include a fix for the issue.

Chrome for iOS Gains New ‘Read Later’ Feature

Google today updated its Chrome browser for iOS devices to version 57, adding a new “Read Later” function for saving articles to a Reading List so they can be viewed at a later time even when an internet connection is unavailable.The Chrome Read Later function is similar to the “Reading List” feature that’s available in the Safari web browser for Macs and iOS devices.Read Later can be accessed by choosing the Share icon when reading a webpage on an iOS device using the Chrome browser. A “Read Later” Chrome icon is displayed, and when tapped, the article is added to the Reading List.

Apple hires well-known iOS security researcher

Apple has hired security researcher Jonathan Zdziarski, according to his personal blog. Zdziarski is best known for opposing claims about Apple by the FBI following the San Bernadino shooting. He’s also made headlines in when he claimed Apple had a backdoor into iOS, and for finding security flaws in apps like WhatsApp. Most recently, he published his findings after looking through the encryption tech behind Confide, an app for sending self-destructing messages that became popular among Republicans in Washington, as Axios reported.
