Windows 10 Mobile build 15228 is now available in the Fast ring, with more fixes and issues

Today, Microsoft released another Windows 10 Mobile build to the Fast ring, bringing the build number to 15228. It’s the first since 15226 was released a week ago. As usual, it’s from the feature2 branch, which means that there are once again no new features. In fact, Microsoft’s Brandon LeBlanc said during a webcast that the firm has no intentions of moving Windows 10 Mobile off of the branch, so it’s likely that this will end up being branded as the Fall Creators Update for phones.

Ten years ago, on June 29 2007, Apple launched the original iPhone. At the time, BlackBerry, Palm and Windows Mobile smartphones ruled the market with QWERTY keyboards and styluses. Then Apple began selling the iPhone and the entire smartphone industry flipped on its head. Multitouch screens became the must-have on every smartphone, and consumers finally got a taste of a user interface that was easy to see and interact with. Even though it lacked some features of other smartphones, like faster 3G data speeds, the iPhone quickly became a must-have for consumers who could afford it.

iOS 11 adds music playback controls to Apple’s AirPods

While there may not be a massive software update for Apple’s AirPods themselves, iOS 11 allows you to set different functionality when you double-tap either AirPod. Meaning, you can use the left AirPod to Play/Pause your music and the right to go to the Next track. Or leave one AirPod to activate Siri while the other is assigned another task. Here’s how you to make your AirPods even better: Your AirPods will need to be connected to your device in order for the complete settings page to show up. Once there, you can change each Pod’s double-tap action.

More pictures of the cancelled Lumia 960 leak in China

We recently saw some leaked pictures of the cancelled Lumia 960 handset, and now some more have been leaked from a Chinese source on Weibo. The device is missing its screen, resulting in the impossibly thin image above, but does give us another good look at the attractive aluminium shell of the device. Earlier leaks have confirmed the device features USB-C charging, a 3.5mm headphone jack, microSD card slot, a hard camera button and volume buttons, and aluminium body, 20-megapixel camera and triple LED flash and dual front-facing speakers.

Microsoft has rolled out the cumulative update with Build 15063.447 to Windows 10 PCs, Tablets and Phones. Microsoft’s main focus is always on PCs but surprisingly the update for mobile comes with two changes. Furthermore, Microsoft has published the detailed changelog on what’s new for Mobiles with Build 15063.447. Microsoft has fixed an issue where a Windows Phone experiences data loss (email, contact, SMS, etc.) caused by Unistore database corruption.
